Join our weekend training flotilla for top tips on how to cross Breydon Water safely with confidence.
Fri 5th to Sun 7th June 2026
Breydon Water is a large expanse of water that opens to the sea through Great Yarmouth Port. Breydon seperates the northern rivers from the southern rivers and is a tidal stretch of water, often with strong currents.
If you are already a competent sailor, or motor cruiser hirer, but have yet to ‘head south’, then this weekend is for you.
Many people fear crossing Breydon due to the strong tides and the number of boats that ground on the mudflats each year. Navigate in the safety of a flotilla, gain advice, top tips and practical experience so that you can cross Breydon on your own terms in the future.
You will learn how to plan for all weathers, read tide tables and be safe in strong tides. You will practice mooring safely on both sides of Breydon, and lower and raise masts safely. You will discuss emergency scenarios and what to do ‘if things go wrong’.
Price is per yacht and includes flotilla support. Individual bookings are also available. Please get in touch for more information.
