Pre-Flotilla Training
The Norfolk Broads School of Sailing, based at Eastwood Whelpton, offers you the chance to build confidence for handling a small yacht on one of the popular Mediterranean flotillas.
If you are considering a flotilla holiday, then we can help you by tailoring a course to your specific needs dependent upon your previous experience;
- Option 1. If you already have RYA L2 keelboat but no ‘offshore ‘big boat’ sailing experience we can help you prepare for a Day Skipper course.
- Option 2. If you have the previous experience, and knowledge, equivalent to the RYA Day Skipper, we can help with a brush up on skills and provide the assessment for the Certificate of Competence.
- Option 3. If you have no previous sailing experience then we can provide the RYA L2 Keelboat training on a keelboat within the safety of the Broads on a boat similar to those used on flotilla holidays. Option 1 above can then be added.
These are very much bespoke courses, the time required will vary dependent upon previous experience, and the individuals needs and requirements which you will be able to discuss with our Chief Instructor beforehand.
Our ‘Pre-Flotilla’ instructors have many years experience of sea sailing and appropriate qualifications including Coastal Instructor. You will meet your instructor each morning and sail on different Broads or rivers while you complete the syllabus with their expert knowledge and guidance.
